Layer Cake
Richard Fox is a highly successful car racer. Together with his brother Thomas, a superb pilot, he wins many races. Unfortunately one of the races ends tragically. The severely injured brothers are transported to a clinic run by a brilliant doctor, who specialises in transplantology. Richard survives the operation only thanks to multiple organ transplants from his brother. A scandal erupts when the widow attempts to obtain her rightful compensation from the insurance company, which decides to pay out only 30% of the total amount. They justify the decision by stating that only a part of the deceased was buried.\n\nA film novel, completed at the end of 1960s, tells of the events taking place in the future, at the threshold of the 21st century.
